Time to enter the Asylum...

It's been an extremely long wait but finally it's almost here. Season 7 premieres on the BBC tonight with "Asylum of the Daleks" - and the weeks of avoiding spoilers like the plague are almost over.

Judging by the reaction of the press - who have, rather wonderfully, heeded the Moff's advice and NOT posted spoilers - together with David A James' excellent spoiler-free review on this site, we're in for one hell of a ride tonight. David is a Dalek fan - has been a Dalek fan for years. In fact, the first time we met (at the "Let's Kill Hitler" BFI screening) were we shown pictures of children etc? No - we were shown pictures of Daleks he'd built (full size, fabulous Daleks). Therefore, if David says it's a great ep...then it IS a great ep.

So, what can we expect tonight? Well, Daleks...Daleks...and more Daleks essentially. Scary Daleks, according to Matt - which is good. The poor guys had become very predictable so I'm hoping for an episode which brings the terror back. We know there's an "asylum" where all the loopy Daleks are and I'm sure I can't be the only one who is hoping for a brief cameo by the adorably insane Dalek Caan.

We also know there are issues between Amy and Rory and that there is some kind of "shocking surprise" in there somewhere. I'm not going to speculate on what that is because, to be honest, I have absolutely no idea. There's talk of it being a "game changer"; others have guessed that it's something to do with Demon's Run. It could literally be anything!

One thing I would like to do though, is thank everyone who attended the various press and preview screenings for NOT spilling the beans. Thank you for keeping your mouths shut and giving us all the opportunity to watch "Asylum of the Daleks" unspoiled. It's really the only way to watch Who.
